One Horse, LLC (“One Horse,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to handling your personal information responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, how we protect it, and the rights and choices you have when you visit our website, create an account, or purchase products from us.

By using our website or purchasing from us, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

1. Who We Are

One Horse is a U.S.-based manufacturer and retailer of American-made firearms, firearm components, and accessories. All sales are subject to applicable federal, state, and local laws, including age restrictions and Federal Firearms License (FFL) transfer requirements.

2. Eligibility and Age Restriction

Our website and products are intended only for adults. You must be at least 18 years of age to use this website or create an account, and you must meet the minimum legal age to purchase any given product:

  • 18 years or older to purchase long guns (rifles and shotguns) and most ammunition and accessories, where permitted by law.
  • 21 years or older to purchase handguns and certain other regulated items, where required by law.

All firearm purchases are completed through a licensed FFL dealer, who independently verifies your age and identity and conducts any required background check before transferring the firearm to you. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us at support@theonehorse.com and we will delete it.

3. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide to Us

  • Account registration details (name, email address, password, billing and shipping addresses)
  • Order information (products purchased, email, phone number, billing/shipping details)
  • Payment details, which are collected and processed by our payment provider (see Section 3D)
  • Federal Firearms License (FFL) and dealer transfer information necessary to complete a firearm shipment
  • Identity or age-verification information where required by law or by a receiving dealer
  • Contact form and customer support inquiries
  • Newsletter, SMS, and marketing sign-ups
  • Comments or reviews you submit, if enabled

B. Information Collected Automatically

  • IP address
  • Browser type and device information
  • Cookies, pixels, and similar tracking technologies
  • Pages visited and links clicked
  • Referring and exit URLs
  • Date, time, and duration of visits

C. Media Uploads

If you upload images to the website, please remove embedded metadata (such as EXIF GPS/location data) beforehand. Other visitors may be able to extract such data from uploaded images.

D. Payment Information

We do not store full credit or debit card numbers on our servers. Card payments are processed by our third-party payment gateway and processor (currently EBizCharge) and, where applicable, by other PCI-compliant processors. These providers handle your card data under their own security standards and privacy policies.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Process, fulfill, and deliver your orders
  • Coordinate firearm transfers with your chosen FFL dealer
  • Verify age, identity, and eligibility where required by law
  • Create and manage your account
  • Respond to customer support and contact requests
  • Send order confirmations, shipping updates, and transactional messages
  • Send marketing communications, with your consent (see Section 8)
  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve our website
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud and abuse
  • Analyze site activity and performance
  • Comply with legal, regulatory, tax, and recordkeeping obligations

5. Legal Bases for Processing

Where required by law, we process personal information on the following bases: to perform a contract with you (such as fulfilling an order), to comply with a legal obligation, with your consent (such as marketing emails or texts), and for our legitimate business interests (such as security, fraud prevention, and improving our services), provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

  • FFL dealers, to complete firearm transfers (your name, contact information, and order details are shared with the dealer you select)
  • Payment processors, to process transactions
  • Shipping carriers, to deliver your order
  • Email and SMS marketing platforms, to send communications you have opted into
  • Analytics and advertising providers, to measure performance and deliver relevant ads
  • Web hosting and infrastructure providers
  • Security, fraud-detection, and spam-prevention services
  • Legal, accounting, and compliance advisors, and government or law enforcement authorities where required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights

If you request a password reset, your IP address may be included in the reset email for security purposes.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. However, when we use advertising and analytics tools (such as the Meta Pixel) for retargeting and measurement, this activity may be considered “sharing” or a “sale” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under certain state privacy laws, including California’s CCPA/CPRA. You may opt out of this activity at any time by:

  • Using the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link on our website (where provided),
  • Enabling a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser, or
  • Emailing us at support@theonehorse.com.

We do not knowingly “sell” or “share” the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

8. Marketing Communications

Email. We send marketing emails only to subscribers who have opted in. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.

SMS / Text Messages. If you opt in to receive text messages, you consent to receive marketing and/or transactional messages at the number you provide. Message and data rates may apply; message frequency varies. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP, or reply HELP for assistance. Consent to receive marketing texts is not a condition of any purchase.

Opting out of marketing does not stop transactional messages (such as order and shipping confirmations).

9. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law:

  • Order and transaction records: retained for at least 7 years to meet tax, accounting, and legal obligations
  • Account information: retained until you request deletion (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Marketing data: retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion
  • Comments/reviews: retained while published, then per our content policies
  • Support communications: retained as needed to provide and document customer service
  • Analytics data: retained according to each provider’s policies

Some records related to firearm transactions may be subject to mandatory retention periods under federal or state law and cannot be deleted on request until those periods expire.

10. Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including SSL/TLS encryption, secure payment gateways, firewalls, malware scanning, access controls, and restricting access to authorized personnel. While no system can be guaranteed completely secure, we follow industry-standard practices to protect your data. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by applicable law.

11. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your state or country of residence, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access / Know — request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we hold about you
  • Correct — request correction of inaccurate information
  • Delete — request deletion of your information (subject to legal exceptions)
  • Portability — request a copy of your data in a portable format
  • Opt out — opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your information and of targeted advertising
  • Restrict / Object — limit or object to certain processing
  • Non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights
  • Withdraw consent — withdraw consent for marketing at any time

How to Exercise Your Rights

Submit a request by emailing support@theonehorse.com. We will verify your identity before responding and will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (generally 45 days, with an extension where permitted). You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf where the law allows.

Right to Appeal

If we decline your request, residents of states that provide an appeal right (such as Virginia, Colorado, and Connecticut) may appeal our decision by replying to our response or emailing support@theonehorse.com with the subject line “Privacy Appeal.” If we deny your appeal, you may contact your state Attorney General.

12. Additional Disclosures for California Residents

In addition to the rights above, California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA. In the preceding 12 months, we may have collected the following categories of personal information: identifiers (name, email, address, IP address), commercial information (purchase history), internet/network activity, geolocation (general, from IP), and payment information (processed by our payment provider). We collect this information for the business purposes described in Section 4 and share it with the categories of recipients listed in Section 7.

Shine the Light: California residents may request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing.

13. Children’s Privacy

This website is intended for adults only and is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn we have collected information from a minor, we will delete it promptly.

14. Third-Party Links and Embedded Content

Our website may contain links to, or embedded content from, third-party websites (such as videos, images, or articles). Embedded content behaves as if you visited the third-party site directly and may collect data about you and track your interaction. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

15. Where Your Data Is Processed

We operate in the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the U.S. If you access our website from outside the United States, you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., which may have data protection laws different from those in your jurisdiction. Certain information, such as comments, may be processed through automated spam-detection services. Other information may be handled by our hosting, analytics, marketing, and fulfillment partners.

16. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy and any disputes arising from it are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where a consumer’s state privacy law grants rights that apply regardless of governing law.

17. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated through our website or by other appropriate means. Your continued use of the website after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
