You pick and pay for your firearm online. We ship it to a licensed gun dealer near you. You fill out one form, pass a background check, and take it home.
Yes. In the United States you can choose and pay for a firearm online. The gun does not come to your house. It ships to an FFL dealer (a gun shop with a Federal Firearms License) that you choose at checkout.
At the dealer you fill out ATF Form 4473, the dealer runs a background check, and then you take your firearm home. State and local laws can add more steps.
This is the real One Horse checkout, step by step. Click any step to jump to it.
Choose a rifle or pistol on theonehorse.com. Each product page shows the price, what is included, and your payment options.
Start with One Horse Express (our rifles and pistols with the Atrius forced reset selector already installed and tested at the factory) or browse all One Horse firearms.
Each product page shows the price and the monthly price with Credova financing. For example, the 16″ Express 5.56 rifle page shows “Free Shipping” right under the product name.
Good to know: Express firearms come with the Atrius FRS. Its selector has three positions: SAFE, SEMI and Super-Semi. Learn about Super-Semi.

Pick any upgrades you want, set the quantity, and click Add to Cart. On Express firearms, this takes you straight to checkout.
Some firearms let you pick upgrades first (for example, a different bolt carrier group). Choose what you want, then click Add to Cart.

On Express firearms, Add to Cart takes you straight to checkout. To see your cart first, click View cart. The cart shows your total, any Free Shipping note, a coupon box, and the Credova pay-over-time link. Tax is added at checkout.

Type your first and last name exactly as they appear on your government ID, and use the billing address of the card you will pay with.
Checkout starts with an Important Legal Notice. Type your first and last name exactly as they appear on your driver’s license or other government ID. No nicknames. If the name on your order does not match your ID, the dealer will deny the transfer.
Your billing address must match the address on your credit or debit card. You will also enter your ZIP code, your email address, and the phone number you would like the dealer to call you at.

In the FFL Dealer Shipping box, enter your ZIP code, click Choose Dealer, and pick a licensed dealer near you. Your firearm ships to that dealer.
What is an FFL? An FFL is a gun shop or dealer that holds a Federal Firearms License from the ATF. Federal law says a firearm bought from out of state must be transferred to you by a licensed dealer, so we ship your firearm to an FFL near you, not to your house.
You cannot place a firearm order until you pick a dealer. Not sure which shop to use? Find a One Horse dealer near you, then call the shop to ask about their transfer fee.
Dealers buying for their own shop: use the I am an FFL tab and enter your FFL number to verify it.

Pay by Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express, or choose Credova to pay over time. With Credova, you apply and get approved right in checkout, before your purchase goes through.
At the bottom of checkout you have two ways to pay:
Check your order total, then click to place your order.

One Horse ships your firearm to the FFL dealer you picked and emails you tracking as soon as it ships. Call your dealer to let them know it is coming.
We build and test our firearms in Brownstown, Indiana, then ship your order to the dealer you picked. We email you tracking and your order number as soon as your order ships. Free shipping on all Express rifles and pistols, and on any other order over $399.
Call your dealer to let them know a One Horse order is on the way.
Tip: To help your order go smoothly, email your dealer’s FFL and your order number to [email protected].
When the dealer has your firearm, go to the shop with your photo ID. You fill out ATF Form 4473 and the dealer runs a background check before handing it over.
Go to the shop when the dealer says your firearm is ready for pickup. Bring your photo ID (see the list below).
Some states add their own rules, like a permit or a waiting period. Your dealer knows the rules where you live.
Once you pass the background check and meet any state rules, the dealer hands over your firearm and you take it home.
That’s it. Enjoy your One Horse.
Need a magazine, an optic or a spare part? One Horse AR-15 parts ship straight to your door.

Most AR-15 parts are not firearms under federal law, so you do not need an FFL dealer for them. When your cart has only parts, checkout skips the FFL dealer step and ships to the address you enter.
The one big exception is the lower receiver. The law treats the lower receiver as the firearm, so stripped and complete lowers ship to an FFL, just like a rifle. Suppressors have extra rules (see the table).

| Item | How it ships |
|---|---|
| Complete uppers, barrels, bolt carrier groups, buffers, lower parts kits, magazines, optics | To your door. No FFL needed (check your state’s magazine and feature rules). |
| Stripped or complete lower receivers | To an FFL dealer. Background check at pickup. |
| Complete rifles and pistols, including One Horse Express | To an FFL dealer. Background check at pickup. |
| Suppressors | To an FFL dealer that also holds an SOT. |
Free shipping on all Express rifles and pistols, and on any other order over $399.
Yes. You can choose and pay for a firearm online, but it ships to a licensed dealer (FFL) near you, not to your house. You pick it up at the dealer after you fill out ATF Form 4473 and pass a background check.
FFL stands for Federal Firearms License. An FFL dealer is a gun shop or dealer licensed by the ATF to sell and transfer firearms. When you buy a gun online, it ships to an FFL dealer you choose.
In the FFL Dealer Shipping box, enter your ZIP code and click Choose Dealer. A window opens with dealers on a map and in a list. Pick one. You cannot place a firearm order until you choose a dealer.
Under federal law, you must be at least 18 to buy a rifle or shotgun from a licensed dealer and at least 21 to buy a handgun, which includes AR-style pistols. Some states and cities set higher ages or add other rules, so check your local laws too.
Most dealers charge a transfer fee to receive your firearm and run the background check. Each dealer sets its own price, so call the shop before you order.
Yes. Credova financing shows on One Horse product pages, in the cart and at checkout. Credova has a minimum order amount, so it shows only on orders that qualify. If you pick Credova, you apply and get approved right in checkout, before your purchase goes through.
Most One Horse AR-15 parts, such as complete uppers, barrels, bolt carrier groups, buffers and magazines, are not firearms under federal law and ship to your address. The lower receiver is the part the law treats as the firearm, so stripped and complete lowers go through an FFL. Suppressors are NFA items and ship only to an FFL dealer that also holds an SOT (Special Occupational Tax status). State laws vary. Shop complete uppers, barrels and lower parts.
Call One Horse at 812-200-0305 or email [email protected] before you order, and we will help you get your dealer set up.
No. One Horse does not have a retail store at our facility. Order on theonehorse.com and we ship firearms to your FFL dealer.
No. All sales are final.
Laws vary by state and city and can change. It is your job to know and follow federal, state and local laws, including rules on magazines, features and triggers or selectors. Placing an order does not mean an item is legal where you live. Check before you buy.
Bring American-made One Horse AR-15 rifles, pistols and parts into your shop at competitive pricing. Apply online: upload your FFL and tax-exempt document, and our team will reach out about our programs and pricing.

One Horse Express rifles and pistols come with the Atrius forced reset selector installed and tested at the factory. Free shipping on all Express rifles and pistols, and on any other order over $399.
Not legal advice. This page explains the general buying process and the One Horse checkout. Federal, state and local gun laws vary and change. It is the buyer’s responsibility to know and follow all laws where they live, including rules on magazines, features and triggers or selectors. One Horse ships firearms only to licensed FFL dealers. Questions about your order? Call 812-200-0305 or email [email protected].
